KARACHI: The local government election in Karachi and Hyderabad are being held today.
Earlier on Saturday, the Election Commission of Pakistan had said that it had been decided to hold local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad on Sunday.
An important meeting was held at the Election Commission headquarters in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja through video link.
Secretary Election Commission Umar Hameed also participated in the meeting while Provincial Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chauhan from Karachi participated in the meeting through video link.
According to the sources, the important consultative meeting in the Election Commission has ended, in which it has been decided to hold local body elections in Karachi, Hyderabad and Dadu.
