Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said that Levies personnel have foiled suicide attack by attackers in football ground of Kurram Agency as one attacker was gunned down by security officials while other detonated himself on the spot.
Maj. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa in a statement released here on Wednesday said that two suicide bombers entered premises of Ali Zai play ground during football match where Levies officials stopped them but one attacker ran into crowd and detonated himself.
According to ISPR, the second attacker tried out fled from the location but Levies personnel chased and shot down the terrorist but his suicide jacket blew by gun fire.
DG-ISPR said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif praised brave and rapid action of Levies officials and visitors present in the football ground. General Raheel said that the nation has aimed not to leave any place to the terrorists and terrorism would be uprooted in the country.
