Leather warehouse caught fire in Karachi

Heavy fire erupted in a leather godown Wednesday night following unknown reason in Korangi area of Karachi, the metropolis of Pakistan.

A large number of rescue teams and fire brigades have rushed at the scene and commenced rescue missions to control the high-intensity fire.

The fire also engulfed some nearby spot containing commercial spots and residential homes while the intensity of fire could be determined as several walls of adjacent shops were turned into rubble.

Smoke clouds covered whole area while rescue teams advised residents to keep inside their houses in order to continue rescue activities without any interruption.

Fire fighting officials told Jasarat representative that no casualties were occurred so far.

The warehouse owner, Hameed, told a local news channel that ‘It was not an accident but a fierce consequence of non-payment of extortion.’
