LB polls mismanagement: KP govt calls APC today

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government took initiative to listen complaints of mismanagement during Local Bodies’ election held last month by calling All Parties’ Conference (APC) on June 9.

As per details, the conference would be headed by Chief Minister of KP Pervez Khattak in Peshawar in which the leaders of Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) have refused to participate.

Qaumi Watan Party and government coalition parties would attend the meeting.

Sources closer to the ruling political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said that consultation would be made in upcoming APC in order to submit recommendations to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over rigging complaints across the province.

On the other hand, three of the big opposition parties ANP, PPP and JUI-F have announced strike on June 10.

According to the details, opposition parties have announced to observe a shutter-down strike on June 10. Leader of the 3-party alliance Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that pressure will be applied from all sides till government’s resignation.
