Lawyers community observing black day against May 12 2007 carnage

KARACHI: Whole of lawyers community of the country is observing black day in wake of May 12 tragedy of 2007.

Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) had announced the black day against the deadly tragedy in which as many as 40 persons were killed on occasion of then sacked chief justice Iftakhar Chaudhry visit to Karachi in 2007 by political party.

Whole of the Lawyers of the country are observing the black day. Strike has been observed by the lawyers in Sindh High Court, City Court and Session Court.

The lawyers will wear black strip on their shoulders and not to appear before the courts on appeal of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA).

The General Body meeting will be held in afternoon where the Quran Khawani will also be held for martyred victims of the May 12 2007.

In all courts black flags will be hoisted against the carnage.
