COLOMBO: As Bangladesh through to International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions trophy, now Pakistan has the last chance to qualify for the tournament.
Bangladesh are through to the tournament after beating India in One Day International (ODI) series and now last sop is available where bother former World Cup winners Pakistan and West Indies eyeing to get the place.
A good news for the Green Shirts is that they are just a point behind West Indies who doesn’t have any ODI match before the dead ICC deadline of September.
However Pakistan have five-match left which are against Sri Lanka. Pakistan have to win One Day series against the host in order to qualify for the tournament.
According to rules of ICC, rating will improve after win over strong team and according to this rule if Pakistan team beat Sri Lanka in ODI series by 3-2 then Pakistan will qualify for ICC Champions Trophy, 2017.
Sri Lanka is placed on fifth position on the table of ICC ODI team rankings. So, ratings of Pakistan team will boost quickly.
Pakistan team already registered a win over Sri Lanka as they beat host team by 10 wickets in first Test of three-match series.
