Landslide destroys houses, damages road near Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: At least 50 houses fell into danger zone as Pona village of Abbottabad’s Havelian district became victim of landsliding on Sunday.

The incident occurred as crack appeared in the mountain, completely destroying the roads linking various areas with each other.

People living on the mountains were force to migrate and live under open sky.

 More than 50 villages including Pona were disconnected from Islamabad and Abbottabad.

Besides this a stream turned into several feet high artificial lake when large amount of landsliding debris fell into it.

Residents were of the view that their lives are subject to a great risk however; government and district authorities have yet not reached to lend a hand to them.
