Lahore building collapse: death toll rises to 53

LAHORE: Another dead body has been recovered from the rubbles of Lahore Sunder Industrial Estate building which collapsed because of its dangerous structure which took death toll to 53.

At least six other dead bodies were recovered on Saturday, while, a young man, Shahid, 19, was rescued alive after 50 hours from the rubbles on Friday, who was later shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.

More than hundred labourers are under treatment in the government hospital.

The factory used to manufacture polythene shopping bags and many labourers used to reside in the factory. Construction work was being carried out on fourth floor when the building collapsed.
