“Kulbhushan’s matter should not be linked with Iran”

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has clearly rejected reports of involvement of Iran in anti-state activities in Pakistan and he appealed not to link matter of detained Indian spy agent Kulbhushan Yadav with Iran.

Chaudhry Nisar while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday announced to reach a decisive end over matter of Kulbhushan Yadav who belongs to Indian prime intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

While detailing the discussion held with Iranian ambassador pertaining terrorism, Nisar said the Iranian envoy had clarified that the neighbouring country always considers Pakistan as brother country. He added that debates were held regarding the press conference which were completely contrary to the reality.

The Interior Minister clarified that the visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Pakistan was successful. He expressed concerns over criticism made regarding President Rouhani’s visit to Pakistan. Pakistan-Iran ties have been supported on every level in the country, he added.

During the press meeting, Nisar also rejected reports of deaths of two children during the Islamabad protest as no children were present in the sit-in. He praised efforts of Pakistani media to play important role to distinguish fire sparked during the Islamabad protest.

Nisar admitted that a ‘day-light’ meeting was held with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif by him along with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif after official approval of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He rejected the report regarding any secret meeting with the Army Chief.

He announced to uncover a ‘document’ on Monday pertaining matter of Pervez Musharraf’s release.
