KARACHI: The University of Karachi has dismissed five employees for not qualifying the selection board while also stopped salaries of 11 employees due to absence from service.

An official of the institution said on Monday that the Registrar has notified that KU administration has terminated five employees from their service as they failed to qualify the selection boards and were on contractual basis.

These employees include Shahzad Pervez Assistant Registrar (Deputy Registrar Establishment), Syed Rashid Ali Accounts Officer (Accounts Section), Azhar Khan Assistant Controller (DR Settlement), Maqsood us Saqlain Liason Officer (Audit Office) and Muhammad Zohaib Accounts Officer( Accounts Office). Moreover, as per directives of the Vice Chancellor, salaries of the some employees are stopped till further order due to absence from service.

These include Muhammad Atif from Enrolment Section, Alamgir from ISPA, Lavi Masih from ISPA, Ghulam Mohiuddin from Engineering Department, Abdul Haseeb from Engineering Department, Mahmood Ahmed from PIO Office, Tabish Sultan from Audit Office, Syed Wahid Raza, Main Communication Network, Arshad Ali Baig from Accounts Section, Kamran uddin from Accounts Section and Umair Amin from Engineering Dept.

All these decisions are made by the university administration on their own without any external influence or pressure whatsoever, it was further stated.
