MUZAFFARABAD: Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has arrived here on Saturday to join his team Overseas Warriors in the Kashmir Premier League’s (KPL) first edition.

Gibbs has decided to take part in the KPL despite Indian attempt to prevent him from playing the mega cricket event in Azad Kashmir.

Last month, taking to Twitter, Gibbs had accused that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had tried to prevent” him from playing the Kashmir Premier League.

The South African batsman had said that it was completely unnecessary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to bring their political agenda with Pakistan into the equation.

The BCCI is also threatening me it will not allow me entry into India for any cricket  related work, Gibbs added.

Gibbs had termed the BBCI threat as ludicrous on his official Twitter account.

Yesterday, the inaugural ceremony of the KPL was held, which was attended by AJK President Sardar Masood Khan and a large number of dignitaries from Pakistan.
