PESHAWAR: The official website of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has been hacked by a group calling itself the ‘Pashtun Cyber Army’, it emerged Thursday.
The hackers defaced kp.gov.pk with a message criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, whose party governs KP.
“Shame on KPK people who elected a party run from Bani Gala,” reads the text.
The hackers have also criticised what they allege is the “illegal occupation of Fata, Pashtunistan and Balochistan”.
As a footnote, the hackers have asked that they be given the “credit” for the hacking instead of Indian intelligence agency RAW.
A representative at KP’s e-Governance Web Cell said that efforts were being made to restore the site to its original state.
