KP govt announces compensation for rain affectees

PESHAWAR: Parliamentary Secretary and former Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yousafzai on Monday said the provincial government has announced compensation package for the rain affected people of Shangla, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Dir and other areas.

In a press release issued here, he said the government has also ordered district administration and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to expedite relief activities besides reopening of damaged roads.

He said the provincial government has announced Rs. 300,000 for each deceased, Rs 100,000 for each critically injured person, Rs. 50,000 for each injured, Rs. 100,000 for owner of each completely damaged house and Rs. 50,000 for each partially damaged house.

Shaukat said Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has allowed all deputy commissioners to spend funds on relief activities from relief accounts, while PDMA has been directed to dispatch edible items, tents and relief goods to the affected areas without any delay.
