KP governor seeks int’l community support for dignified return of IDPs

PESHAWAR: British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Thomas Drew called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra here at KP House, Islamabad on Monday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest with particular reference to the situation in the region.

The distinguished guest remained with the Governor and highlighted the steps underway for ensuring sustainable peace and stability particularly in FATA and pointed out that government is taking the respective people along in all its measures for ensuring better future for them.

The Governor also apprised him about the steps and endeavors of the government to ensure the dignified return and rehabilitation of displaced persons.

Socio-economic uplift and well being of the people of FATA will continue to remain a top priority with special focus on bringing further improvement in working of healthcare system and educational facilities in the area, he added.

The Governor welcomed the International community for their support in further strengthening the ongoing efforts of the government in this regard. The international community should come forward and play their due role to ensure the dignified return of IDPs and their rehabilitation.
