Karachi Kings have defeated Quetta Gladiators by 19 runs in their opening match of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League at the Dubai International Stadium.
Kings, led by Imad Wasim, won the toss and elected to bat against the Gladiators. After posted a respectable 150 runs on the board, they managed to restrict Sarfraz XI to 130 runs.
Umar Amin (31), Mohammad Nawaz (30) and Riley Rossouw (18) were not enough to see Quetta cross the winning line.
Imad Wasim, Mohammad Irfan and Tymal Mills all managed to pick two wickets each for the Kings.
Earlier, Karachi scored 149 on loss of 9 wickets thanks to timely charge of Colin Ingram, who was also given man of the match award. He contributed 41 before being caught on short third man.
Local boy, Khurram Manzor made 35 to guide the total to 149.
Shane Watson was the star performer with the ball for Quetta as he picked three wickets. Meanwhile, Anwar Ali and Jofra Archer bagged two wickets each.
