ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has lauded the announcement made by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to form a Judicial Commission (JC) to investigate Panama leaks allegation on his family.
Talking to a private news channel, he said it was the right decision taken by the PM at a right time.
He said if any political party had reservations on judicial commission it should go to the Supreme Court.
The minister said the PM had only announced formation of the commission and name of the judges and Terms of References (ToRs) were yet to be decided.
To a question, Khawaja Asif said a political unrest was already prevailing in Iceland and situation was different there which should not be compared with Pakistan.
He said name of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not included in Panama Leaks.
Prime Minister’s sons were running their business abroad and maintaining offshore companies was a legal option available and there was nothing wrong in it, he said.
He said Imran Khan was habitual of levelling baseless allegations and if he had any evidence, he should come forward and prove it.
Khawaja Asif said that Senator Aitzaz Ahsan instead of criticizing Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leadership, should also look in his own party, as name of its leaders were also included in Panama Leaks.
