KARACHI: Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police, Ghulam Haider Jamali, has formed special investigation committee comprising three members to hold probe over Khairpur incident where 12 persons lost their lives in exchange of fire during LG election.
IG Sindh ordered thorough investigation into armed clash occurred between two political groups during Local Government (LG) election in Khairpur district. He formed a three-member committee in this regards, Sindh Police spokesperson said.
The committee will be headed by Additional Inspector General (AIG) Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Sanaullah Abbasi while other members include SSP Khairpur and SSP Sukkur. The committee will present its report to the higher authorities after spotting responsible persons in the incident.
