KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has appealed to the Sindh government to allow business from Iftar to Sehri during the last two days before the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The KCCI has appealed to the provincial government to reduce the serious damage caused by the sanctions to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Businessmen Group Chairman Zubair Motiwala said that in view of the relatively low number of cases of coronavirus in the city, all businesses should be allowed to open on Wednesday and Thursday from Iftar to Sehri. There will not be rush in any bazaar if all the markets are allowed to open simultaneously, he suggested.
KCCI President Sharq Vohra said it was a time for the Sindh government, which is a people representative, to take a decision to alleviate the plight of the troubled people and the business community.
According to Majeed Memon, the chairman of the Karachi Chamber’s special committee for small traders, the government’s decision will be a decision for the survival of many businesses.
