Karachi: In the wake of rising number of coronavirus cases, 12 union councils of Karachi have been sealed on Saturday.
The deputy commissioner East, Ahmed Ali, said that a heavy contingent of Rangers and police had sealed 12 union councils. Citizens have been directed to stay indoors in these areas.
He said that over 150 coronavirus cases were reported from these union councils.
He said that all the entry and exit points to these areas had been closed.
Ali added that the 12 UCs included UC 12 Gillani Railway, UC 7 Dalmia, UC 8 Jamal Colony, UC 9 Gulshan, UC 10 Pehalwan Goth, UC 12 Gulzar e Hijri, UC 13 Safoora Goth, UC 14 Faisal Cant., UC 2 Manzoor Colony, UC 9 Jacob Lines and UC 10 Jamshed Quarters.
