KARACHI: The first spell of monsoon rains has started in Karachi today.
The Meteorological Department said that intermittent light and moderate rains are likely to continue today. The intermittent light and moderate rains in the city are likely to continue till July 16.
It added that monsoon winds have entered through Indian Gujarat while moderate monsoon winds are entering the Lower Sindh from the Arabian Sea.
The highest rainfall of 17 mm was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadid till 9 am while 8 mm of rainfall was recorded in Nooriabad.
Besides, 5 mm rain was recorded at PAF Faisal Base, 4.3 mm at University Road, 4 mm at Landhi, 3.6 mm at Saadi Town, 3.2 mm at Jinnah Terminal and 2.8 mm at Surjani Town.
