Director General (DG) Rangers Sindh, Major-General Bilal Akbar, on Saturday said that the metropolis Karachi has started collecting benefits of ongoing targeted operation continued across the economic hub of Pakistan.
DG Rangers said that public support to the Karachi Operation is increasing day-by-day, he clarified again the targeted operation is continued indiscriminately but not to hit any party or political party. He added that Karachi Op will be continued till a decisive end.
He made the statement while meeting with Awami National Party (ANP) Karachi chapter chief Shahi Syed led Jirga that were visiting the Rangers headquarters in Karachi.
While talking to the delegation, Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar said that actions were being carried out against target killers, extortionists and other criminals with support of the locals. He said that Karachiites were submitting reports on Rangers’ Helpline 1101 against culprits involved in criminals activities.
The meeting was also attended by deputy director Rangers’ Sindh, sectors’ commanders, deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and other senior officials.
Earlier, a 100-member Pakhtun Jirga consisting of Mashran (Elders) living in Karachi led by Senator Shahi Syed visited the headquarter of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, here on Saturday.
The delegation was welcomed by the Director General of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar.
The Rangers chief apprised the delegation of the situation prevailing before the launching of the operation and of the current situation.
He said that the operation launched without any distinction, also has the public support. The members of the Jirga very much appreciated the performance of the Rangers.
