KARACHI: The Agha Khan University Hospital Karachi has categorically denied the media report which states that Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Omar was treated at the medical facility in Karachi.
In a statement released on Friday, the city’s top hospital maintained that AKUH patients have a right to confidentiality and privacy adding that the medical facility does not disclose details about its patients but in this exceptional case the hospital can state that it has no record of Mullah Omar being treated at AKUH.
It must be remembered that US daily Washington Post published a story on July 30 stating that Mullah Omar was being treated at Agha Khan University Hospital Karachi.
