KARACHI: Citing the reason of ever increasing demand, Karachi’s power supplying company K-Electric announced to start load shedding in areas exempted of power cuts.
In a press release on Monday, KE maintained that the demand of electricity in Karachi has reached 3000 MW and now the areas exempted of load shedding will also have to bear 3 hours of load shedding.
The statement further said that the generation capacity of some of the power plants is affected due to shortage of gas pressure while KANUPP power plant is non-operational due to technical issues.
The load shedding exempted areas will have to bear the power cut as KE does not want to extend load shedding in other areas beyond 7.5 hours, the statement said.
We urge our consumers to conserve electricity while the situation is controlled. pic.twitter.com/N5KvnXEr2b
