Judicial lock-up not jail attacked in Chaman: IG Jail Balochistan

Quetta: IG Prisons Balochistan says that the attack was not on the jail but on the judicial lock-up in Chaman.

Speaking to media, IG Jail Balochistan Shujauddin Kasi said that there was an attack not on the jail but on the judicial lock-up in Chaman, in which 17 prisoners escaped.

Shujauddin Kasi said that the judicial lock-up is under the supervision of the police department and the responsibility for the security of the judicial lock-up lies with the concerned district police officer.

IG Jail said that the number of jails in the province is 11 in which there are 3 thousand prisoners.

On the other hand, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo took notice of the attack on Chaman Jail and the escape of 17 dangerous prisoners.

Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Qudous Bizenjo has ordered a high-level investigation into the incident of escape of 17 dangerous prisoners from Chaman Jail and has sought a report from the Additional Chief Secretary Interior.

The Chief Minister has directed the law enforcement agencies to take joint action to arrest the escaped prisoners.
