ISLAMABAD: Ruckus erupted in Parliament during second installment of the two-day joint session on Thursday as opposition threatened to leave the meeting over Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mushahid Ullah’s statement Wednesday.
Addressing the meeting, Mushahid Ullah criticized Bilawal Bhutto over his yesterday’s media talk and said that Pakistan Peoples Party would not win 2018 elections and their leaders will be in the jail while PM Nawaz would again come into authority. PML-N Senator said that 558 people exposed in Panama Leaks belong to PPP while PM Nawaz’s name was not there. He also said that PPP leaders give lists of Sikh militants to their agents.
Reportedly, Khurshid Shah, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly was about to walk out of the joint session when Sirajul Haq, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami intervened and aided reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq directed the minister to talk on Occupied Kashmir issue but he continued to discuss national politics.
He also said that billions of rupees were wasted in Larkana but no development project was launched so far. PPP leaders became furious over Mushahid Ullah’s statement and threatened to stage walk out of the Assembly.
Khurshid Shah asked that why we are not ready to listen each others’ stance calmly on one platform. He complained that government officials abuse anyone they want.
Meanwhile, Mushahid Ullah apologized as Senator Zafar-ul-Haq tried to cool down the matter. As the Parliament deliberated over strategy over Kashmir issue, the session became a fish market due to political differences of the parties. —INP
