LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Naib Ameer Liaqat Baloch has welcomed dialogue between Taliban and Afghan government. He said that it was a right step toward peace in the region.

He urged all stake holders in Afghanistan to make the dialogues successful. He said that dialogues provides solution to all issues.

Liaqat Baloch said that Pakistan and Afghanistan had been facing disruption, bomb blasts and suicide bombings for the last about fourteen years in which millions of people had lost their lives. The region had become the centre of foreign powers’ politics. The US and India wanted to prolong disruption and chaos in the area and had been sabotaging all efforts for peace so far.

He said that the JI had always supported the idea of dialogue to solve the issues on the principle that all major wars had ended up through talks.

He expressed the hope that the agreement between the Kabul government and the Taliban to continue talks would finally lead to reconciliation. He also appreciated the decision of the two sides not to resume hostilities as long as the talks continued.
