KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan supreme leader Senator Sirajul Haq has vowed to fight the case of Sindh in and outside the parliament.
He expressed these views on Sunday while addressing the culminating session of the two days historic JI Sindh workers convention, being held at Bag e Jinnah in Karachi. Tens of thousands of JI workers from across the province participated in the convention.
He said that Pakistani nation have been looted by last 70 years. He added that man of this era has conquered other planets while people in Pakistan are even deprive of their basic rights and just full opportunities for livelihood.
The JI leader criticized the ruling regime for just following their monitory benefits, instead of pursuing collective goal of Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
He said that JI has been pursuing the agenda of a peaceful, prosperous and Islamic Pakistan. Haq advised masses to revert back to the way of living being guided by the teachings and principles of Islam. He urged people to read some verses of the Quran Pak on daily basis so as to have guidance directly from the holy book of Quran.
He said that the JI was not an ordinary political party but an revolutionist movement, struggling for a peaceful Islamic revolution. He talked about social issues of Pakistani society. He urged masses to be connected to the basic teachings of Islam so as to live a peaceful life.
Talking about Karachi, he said that it was a role model city, leading the country in the terms of revenue, academics, industry and intellect. He continued that the incapable leadership of the city and the country have ruined Karachi.
He stressed the need to restore basic facilities in Karachi as well as Sindh so as to initiate a saga of peace, prosperity and development.
The JI leader held corruption in Islamabad, Hyderabad and Karachi responsible for the dismal situation of Sindh. He strongly criticized the provincial government for making shady legislations against the teachings of Islam as well as the constitution of the country.
He expressed his disappointment that the party of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was mulling to breach the constitution, being bestowed by its founder.
Haq warned both the federal and the provincial government to mend their ways. He asked ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) to reveal the basis of the offshore assets of its leadership.
He said that the crystal clear probe in Panama gate is the voice of Pakistan.
The JI leader said that the JI is determinant to fight for the rights of labourers and other oppressed segments of Sindh. He also advised people to discharge their due responsibilities with honesty.
JI Sindh Ameer Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui said that Sindh was pushed against wall, the city known as economic nurves and the city of lights has been facing darkness since long.
He vowed that the JI would not only bring back the lights of Karachi but would also bestowed the province it lost glory.
He said that the JI would not people of Karachi alone and would fight for the rights of Karachi and would struggle for the progress and development of Sindh province. He added that if provided with power, his party would ensure 100 percent literacy rate in Sindh. He said that budget for education would be raised to 10 percent. He also announced that 1000 scholarships would be made available each year, if JI gains power in Sindh.
Talking about women sector, he said that each and every girl of the province would be empowered and literate. Citing the example of Father of Karachi Nematullah Khan, he said that colleges would be established in each and every sub district of the province.
If provided government in Sindh, he also promised to bring reforms in agriculture sector. He pledged to provide farmers with interest free loans and an end to interest system in agriculture sector. He added that Thar region would be made green in first five years of JI rule in the province.
Earlier JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also addressed the final session of the convention. In his adderss, he talked about the political vaccume being faced by Karachi and Sindh.
He said that the future of Sindh and particularly Karachi is associated with Islam and Islamic revolution. He strictly criticized the federal and provincial governments for usurping the rights of people of Karachi.
