KARACHI: The country’s oldest religio-political party on Sunday urged the PTI-led government to scrap the Simla agreement and also remove barriers erected on Line of Control.

“International representation be given in the Constituent Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Now we need to take practical steps for the liberation of Kashmir as now no more ‘social media jihad’ is acceptable, Senator Sirajul Haq,” the chief of Jamaat-e-Islam told the mammoth “Kashmir March” held here on the Shahrea Faisal to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Despite rain and rough weather conditions, a large number of citizens from all walks of life including Jamaat-e-Islami activists, members of civil society and all political parties attended the march, sending a strong message to India and the world community that people of Pakistan stand with their Kashmiri brethren.

Now its time to wage jihad… groups of jihadis will depart for occupied Kashmir, we cannot wait anymore as our sisters and mothers are being molested daily by Indian forces, Senator Siraj further told the gathering.

I urge the government to behave like the Tipu Sultan and not like Mir Jaffar. Time has come now to teach a lesson to Modi. If Pakistan’s fight is not fought in Srinagar then it would be held in Islamabad.

The JI chief said that Kashmir is our destination. The Modi government has a plan to build temples after demolishing mosques.

He claimed that several Pakistan-like states would come into being within India. He said that Kashmir is our jugular vein, which is being cut down.

Criticising Imran Khan, the JI chief said that the prime minister at the US offer of mediation had returned home happily as if Kashmir has been liberated.

“Trump’s mediation offer on Kashmir is not acceptable to us. Our only objective and slogan is that Kashmir will become Pakistan.” he maintained.

Later, he thanked all the participants of the march including the leaders of various political parties.

Speaking on the occasion, former Senate chairman Raza Rabani said that it is now the entire nation’s firm resolve that Kashmir will become Pakistan.

He said that a curfew had been in place in the occupied Kashmir since Aug 5, adding that over 10,000 youths had been arrested there.

The world community is silent over the human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir, Rabbani added.

The Trump’s mediation offer is not acceptable to Pakistan, the former Senate chairman said.

He further said that FM Qureshi had offered dialogue offer to India, adding that there should not be any talks till the resolution of Kashmir issue.
