KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that his party would mobilize masses on plundering of national exchequer and incompetency of the government, coupled with employing tactics to deprive people of their due rights.
He expressed these views on Saturday night while addressing a ‘workers convention’ held at JI, Karachi headquarters.
On the occasion, he announced that the JI would file a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan on August 25.
The JI central leader alleged that Rs470 billion have been sent abroad illegally. He added that the cancer of corruption has pushed the country and her institutions to the verge of total collapse.
He was of the view that no one at the halm of affairs should be exempted from a brutal accountability.
He said that instead of addressing the real issues of the national, the ruling regime has been busy in protecting their interests, while the leading opposition party was also hand in gloves with the federal government. He held the provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab of neglecting the aspirations of masses.
Baloch said that the federal government has been showing grave and criminal negligence on the issue of Kashmir.
Talking about the situation in Karachi, he also demanded of the government to devise a free, fair and transparent policy for collection of hides of sacrificial animals as the obtained money would be a back bone for charitable work or terrorism.
The JI SG said that unfortunately the city has been pushed towards a downward spiral for several decades. Now the time has come to get Karachi free of all kinds of fears and threats.
He said that Karachi possessed a significant status in Pakistan, particularly in regard with charity and welfare works. The people of Karachi proved themselves generous in charity works.
He said that the workers and members of JI are already in touch with the masses and are engaged in welfare activities in the city, the only need is to strengthen these contacts and activities. He urged the party workers to keep their creator their top priority.
Baloch told the JI workers that solid personnel character and good behaviour is very important and essential for the worker of a revolutionary party.
He was of the view that the entire Muslim Ummah is inter connected and it is the responsibility of Muslims to help not only other Muslims but to the entire human race.
The JI leader also shed light on overall political scenario of country. He said that situation has become much better in Balochistan as compare to past several years.
JI Karachi chief Engr. Naeem-ur-Rehman said in his speech that Rangers operation in Karachi has brought a significant betterment, particularly regarding law and order in Karachi. However, he added that a lot of work is needed to be done.
He urged the high-ups of the federal law enforcement agency to work more precisely so as to tighten the noose against criminal elements with more accuracy.
He was of the view that social services and charity work is the base of JI’s political efforts. He asked political workers to devise effective strategies to earn the trust of people so as they donate the hides of sacrificial animals to Al-Khidmat as Eid-ul-Adha is only days ahead.
Engr. Naeem also stressed the need of reforms regarding formation of voter lists. On the occasion, he said that the JI would use all available resources, including legal course, to ensure the next general election would be held under flawless voter lists.
He said JI is not a political party in conventional means but keeps a straight forward line of action and mission that is a prosper Islamic Pakistan. He further said that contrary to those parties who manage to grab power with the help of establishment, JI has to walk a long way to acquire its ultimate destination.
The party leader said that the JI is a revolutionary party. He urged the party workers to design their personalities accordingly. We have been working for bringing in a revolution in the country and to make Pakistan a peaceful, prosper and welfare Islamic state.
He asked the party activists not to bow down before the temporary obstacles and to keep their faith firmly in their future both here and hereafter.
Engr. Naeem asked the party activists to reach out to maximum people and invite them to join hands with the JI in the struggle for a peaceful, strong and Islamic Pakistan. He also directed them to keep reading the Holy Quran as well as the ‘Seerat-e-Rasool’, besides other Islamic literature.
