JI to continue campaign against corruption: Sirajul Haq

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq announced nationwide public contact campaign commencing in March 2017 for making an Islamic and prosperous Pakistan and directed JI leaders to establish election fund section for holding preparations for forthcoming general election.

Sirajul Haq, while addressing two-day-long JI Sindh Majlis-e-Shura session through video conferencing at Quba Auditorium, Karachi on Sunday. During the session, Sirajul Haq has answered different questions over under trial case of Panama leaks and different questions raised by members of JI Sindh Shura. JI Sindh Ameer, Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui and other officials were also present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq said that the JI would carry its campaign against corruption to its logical end. He said that spots of corruption had surfaced on the country’s ruling family in the wake of the Panama leaks.

He said that most of country’s well known political figures were involved in corruption, and the menace would not end if there was no major operation against it.

He said that the Sindh province was mired in numerous problems ranging from drinking water, filth, and unemployment. He said it was time that the Sindh government adopted concrete measures to solve these problems.

While addressing the session, Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui said that the political party will fail each conspiracy against amendment in blasphemy regulations and other laws focusing religious affairs. He said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) will continue struggle to secure religious boundaries and to bring true change through efforts within limits of constitution and democracy.

Earlier, different resolutions focusing political and public issues were approved while an overall review was made on organizational work and planning of coming year and budget.
