KARACHI: Jamaat e Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has called on Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Jam Khan Shoro and Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed in connection with the party’s campaign to resolve miseries of the city.
Talking to Mr Jam at the minister’s residence on Saturday, he said that the city needs strategy to be devised on the city’ civic issues on long term basis.
He was of the view that the city has been neglected for a long time and it needs a huge and comprehensive package.
The JI leader informed the minister that the situation of sewerage system and water as well as transportation in the city has become worst following the recent rains.
On the occasion, the minister thanks the JI leader for JI offer of cooperation in regard to resolve the problems in the city.
He said that efforts to mitigate the problems in the city would be intensified.
The minister said that work would be initiated on the K4 project to end the shortage of water in the city.
Further talking about the issues, he said that a system is being devised to pick up garbage from houses in some DMCs.
Later the JI leader called on Administrator Karachi at his camp office.
The JI leader stressed the need to resolve the civic issues in Karachi on war footing basis.
The JI leader was of the view that Karachi could be made a developed city, if some sincerity is showed in this regard.
The JI leader also stressed the need to bring back the KE on track.
