JI refuses to accept mandate of MQM: Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman

KARACHI: Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that JI has not accepted mandate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as true mandate would be uncovered if the by-election was conducted via using bio-metric system.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman while talking to reporters in Karachi said that JI cannot accept isolated transparency adopted in NA-246 by-election. Real mandate would be revealed if the polling process conducted under bio-metric system, he added.

He said that JI leadership dispatched several applications to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) but no action was taken by the top electoral institution.

Naeem rejected to accept such election carried out following voter lists compiled in sector officers. However, he praised role of law enforcement agencies, Rangers and Police, to maintain law and order situation amid by-election.
