KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said the overwhelming welcome reception of JI and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and the rally would set the future course of action of the city.
Addressing an urgent press conference at the Insaf House, here on Friday evening, the JI leader announced the route of the rally and said that the leadership of both the parties would be welcomed at Stargate on Saturdaynoon at 1 pm and would be brought to Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum, where they would offer prayers and address the rally.
The JI leader further said that both the JI and PTI have their roots among common people and are the real representatives of people.
He was of the view that only the JI and PTI are capable of resolving the issues of Karachi as both have honesty, devotion and abilities in common.
Further talking about the miseries of Karachiites, he said that law and order as well as unemployment are the core problems of the city. He said that both the issues are interconnected as joblessness fuel the crime rate.
He vowed to bring a change in the city and to replace the unrest with an environment where youth would be provided with opportunities on the basis of equality.
The JI leader urged masses to come forward to vote and support their true representatives so as to bring peace, tranquility and sustainable development in the city.
Criticizing the attitude of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), he said that the party should refrain from creating hurdles in action against the criminal elements. He also said that MQM not portray the actions of Rangers against criminals in the light of ethnic shades.
He reasserted the need of army and Rangers deployment in and outside the polls to maintain the decorum of local government elections and to ensure a free and fair elections.
He was of the view that without proper security under the Rangers and army observation LG elections would be of no use.
The JI leader said that both the JI and PTI keep faith and follow the slogan of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah: Unity, Faith and Decipline.
PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi was also present at the conference. He thanked provincial election commissioner for forwarding the demands of deploying Rangers during LG polls to Islamabad.
He also said that Imran Khan would address corner meetings across the city on Sunday.
