LAHORE: The Jamaat e Islami with the support of the business community will hold a protest at Multan Road after Juma prayers tomorrow against the suspension of work on the Orange Line train project causing traffic jams and problems for the commuters. Multan Road Traders Alliance and members of the civil society would also join the protest.

JI central Information Secretary Amirul Azeem, in a statement here said, that the citizens had welcomed the Orange Line project in-spite of the demolition of their houses, markets and business centers, with the hope that it would solve the traffic problem in a major portion of the provincial capital. However, he said that the pace of work on the project was disappointing and the life of the road users and citizens at large had become miserable.

He said that due to non completion of the project on schedule, the citizens were suffering due to traffic jams, besides dust and smoke which were causing various diseases.
