LAHORE: Unknown assailants opened fire on the house of Jamaat-e-Islami senior leader Hafiz Salman Butt here on Saturday. However, the JI leader remained unhurt.
Police said that unidentified motorists opened fire at the house of the JI leader in Allama Iqbal Town. No casualty was reported in the attack.
The attackers managed to flee after the firing.
According to a spokesman for the JI, Butt was attending a meeting on disputes among student unions at his house when the attack was carried out.
Police have launched an inquiry into the incident.
