KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has strictly criticized the K-Electric for its unannounced and prolonged load-shedding in the city during the ongoing extreme season.

In a statement on Thursday, the JI leader said that the private entity has been forcing the Karachites to face miserable and inhuman situations, right under the nose of governmental authorities.

In sheer violations of human rights, the KE has been forcing masses to face extra ordinary heat without electricity, he said.

Engr. Naeem said that strangely, the KE has been let escort free by regulators, despite all the violations KE made of its basic agreement, under which Karachi Electric Supply Corporation was privatized.

He alleged KE of stealing people property as the entity, according to him, replaced copper wires with aluminium, which in terms of value and quality is much lesser than copper.

The JI Karachi chief said that  the prolonged power outages have also resulted in water crises in the city, resultantly the life of local dwellers became more miserable, he added.

Engr. Naeem further said that unfortunately, various political parties are also hands in gloves with the KE and their criminal silence over the misdeeds of the power entity against masses is evident on it.

He warned of the KE authorities to set their course of action in right direction or to face the unprecedented wrath of masses. He alleged that the KE has been keeping its focus only on profits since its inceptions and has been violating all legal and moral bearers to achieve their only goal of minting money.

The JI chief further said that the KE administration has been minting money with the help of corrupt practices, including over billing.
