JI forms ToRs to recover plundered wealth

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the JI central Shoora had framed terms of references (ToR’s) for enquiry into corruption and for the recovery of the plundered wealth.

Sirajul Haq said that these ToRs will be forwarded to the government and it will have to accept it. While Talking to the media on Thursday during the JI Shoora session at Mansoora, he said that the plunderers would have to return every penny of the public money and the issue could not be hushed up just like in the past.

Sirajul Haq said that Prime Minister in his address to the nation, had further complicated the matters and now the government was spending millions on advertisements in a futile bid to prove the Prime Minister’s innocence.  He said the rulers would have to account for the wastage of public money on the ads. He said the rulers attitude indicated that they considered the public money as their “mom’s milk”.

Sirajul Haq said that the name of a judge had also appeared in the Panama Leaks. He said the nation had expected that the conscience of the judge would wake up and he would announce his resignation. However, he said, unfortunately, the conscience of the judge had not awakened despite having brought a slur on the nation’s name.

The JI chief said that millions had been misappropriated in the purchase of white lion and leopards for the zoo. He asked the rulers whether the white lions and leopards were more essential than arranging education and health facilities for the poor children. He said it was due to the wrong priorities of the rulers that three patients were made to lie on a single bed in the government hospitals.

The JI chief said that he would spend the May Day with the kiln workers and added that thousands of men women and children had to toil hard to earn their living while the rulers lived in palaces and plundered public money.

Replying to a question regarding the Khyber Bank controversy, Sirajul Haq said that the M.D. of the Khyber Bank had himself admitted the innocence of the JI Minister in the province, and the MD was had offered an apology. He said the report of the enquiry committee set up by the Khyber P. Chief Minister was also out and the Finance Minister Muzaffar Syed had been  cleared of all allegations leveled on him. He said that even JI’s worst opponents had not blamed the JI leaders of corruption and dishonest practices.
