KARACHI: A leader of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Sunday urged the authorities concerned to undertake the required repair and renovation of the University Road.
In a statement here Sunday, he said the University Road was one of the main thoroughfares of the metropolis which required substantial repair and renovation.
“This is not the problem of any single individual as the University road is used by up to two million people daily,” he further remarked while speaking at a consultative meeting regarding a campaign for the construction of the University Road.
A JI Karachi statement issued here said the meeting was attended by quite a number of people who also came up for suggestions for the repaid/renovation and construction of the city’s University Road.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said apart from the construction of the Road, the sewerage problem should also be solved on permanent basis.
He said there were at least 10 `Kutchra Kundis’ along the road, and that these should also be removed and the garbage should be collected and disposed of in a proper manner.
The JI leader also called for resolving the problems of the city of Karachi on priority basis.
