JI firmly stands with affected families of Kasur child abuse scandal: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Aug. 18; Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has called upon the Punjab Chief Minister to ensure an atmosphere under which the complainants of the aggrieved families of the Kasur child abuse scandal and their counsel could join the proceedings of the JIT with a sense of freedom and security. He was talking to a delegation from Kasur at Mansoora.

Liaqat Baloch said that the local political circles were trying to influence the enquiry with the support of the police. He said that the Punjab government should not permit anyone to add to the ignominy already caused by the incident.

The JI leader further said that the scandal had underscored the necessity of character building of the masses at public and social levels and for besides safeguarding and promotion of the Islamic values on Islamic values.

Meanwhile, while talking to a delegation of Railway workers, Liaqat Baloch appreciated the improvement in the working of railways and congratulated the Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq, railways administration and workers- both technical and non technical- of the institution for that. He said that with the improvement of working, the losses of railways had been turned into profit.

Liaqat Baloch said that with good intentions, the government could also reinvigorate the PIA, the Pakistan Steel and electricity companies.  He said that these were important state institutions and with better management, their working could also be improved and they could be made profitable. He said the best course for the government would be to give up the idea of privatization and concentrate of their reformation of these institutions on correct lines.
