KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Engr. Naeem-ur-Rehman demanded permanent status for daily wages contract employees of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).
Talking to a delegation of the SBCA’s affected employees at the JI headquarters, he assured them that JI would overwhelmingly support the due demands of the contract employees at SBCA.
He said that through legislation in 2013, the Sindh government has provided a large number of contact employees with permanent status. It is a matter of grave concern and sheer injustice, if the contract employees of the SBCA are deprived of their due right.
The delegation briefed the JI leader on how the affected employees are being discriminated against. He was also informed that the affected employees have been deprived of their salaries for last four month and they along with their families are now being starved.
Engr. Naeem demanded of the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to take the notice of the human tragedy and resolve the issue on urgent basis.
