KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the open and sheer violations of the election code of conduct in PS114.
Addressing a press conference on Monday at the central election office of the JI’s candidate in the constituency, he said that ruling parties have been violating the code of conduct. He was of the view that the implementation of the code of conduct is an obligation for the ECP.
He urged masses to come forward on the election day and reject those who got elected from the constituency and later neglected their voters.
On the occasion, he announced that JI supremo Sennator Sirajul Haq would be visiting the constituency on Wednesday July 5th.
Further talking about the role of Pakistan People Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement, he said that the ruling parties have asking the locals to cast voste in their favour but unfortunately the matter of fact is that these parties themselves are the core of problem for the constituency.
The JI leader further said that honesty is the basic difference between the JI’s candidate and other candidates. He said that the ruling parties have allocated and drawn tens of millions of rupees for cleanliness of rain drains but did not spent even a penny for this purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, JI’s candidate Zahoor Ahmed Jadoon recalled that the JI has been working in the area since 1970. He said that though the PPP and the MQM have been enjoying rule in the province and the city since decades but they did nothing on the ground.
He said that during the tenures of Nematullah Khan and Abdul Sattar Afghani, these localities were regulated and registered.
