LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that non-cooperation and unserious attitude of the government created hurdles in elimination of corruption in Pakistan.

Sirajul Haq said the rulers delivered clear message to the nation for continuation of corrupt system in the country. The nation wanted to see Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to present himself for accountability in order to eradicate corruption which will open paths of accountability for others, he said.

While commenting over developments in probe of Panama leaks, Sirajul Haq said the session held to formulate Term of References (ToRs) left indecisive, whereas some elements wanted to declare formulation of such terms as ‘impracticable’. He added that Jamaat-e-Islami made decision to go Supreme Court over the matter on August 22.

Sirajul Haq was addressing different delegations from his ancestral town Samarbagh and Dir district on Wednesday.

The JI Ameer clarified it was an only solution to eliminate depravation to hold ruthless accountability. He added the government and opposition have joint responsibility to secure national deposits.

Jamaat-e-Islami was the first political party which started movement against corruption across the country to get rid of the curse being suffered by Pakistanis since last 69 years.

Meanwhile, a representative Jirga of Afghan refugees held meeting with Sirajul Haq to apprise him regarding their issues. Siraj said they wanted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan which is the need of time.

He said Pakistanis are standing besides Afghan nation while he urged to resolve all issues through meaningful dialogues to prevent both nations from conspiracies by foreign powers. He vowed to raise strong voice in Senate and the National Assembly (NA) for early resolve of issues of Afghan refugees.
