JI begins legal war against corruption: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq on Thursday said the political party was going to challenge Panama leaks’ matter into the Supreme Court (SC) on August 22. He said JI has now started legal battle against corruption besides public protests in every street of the country.

Sirajul Haq announced to take part in 2018 general election with full strength. He said the legal battle against corruption will eliminate economic terrorism across the country.

The JI Ameer clarified that the anti-corruption movement was not targeting any individual but to provide relief to suffering nation burdened with hefty loans. He said the corruption bids permitted corrupt elements to store $375 billion of national treasury into foreign countries.

Sirajul Haq expressed his thoughts while addressing press conference with media after chairing session of JI political committee at Mansoora. The session was attended by JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, Naib Ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam, Mian Maqsood Ahmed, Dr. Waseem Akhtar and others.

While commenting over JI’s legal move against Panama leaks, Siraj said it will be a significant milestone for nationals to eliminate corruption and barricading all corruption paths through basic legislation.

He said corrupt politicians took hide in different political parties which preferred to increase its number of members in parliament instead of stopping corruption. He urged formulation of electoral reformations before the forthcoming general elections in 2018. He said economic terrorism is more dangerous than armed terrorism.

Jamaat-e-Islami initiated ‘Corruption Free Pakistan’ campaign spread awareness amongst nationals which is now becomes a national movement of Pakistan, he said.

The Senator expressed deep concern over increasing number of children abduction cases in Punjab province. He criticised the rulers over bogus claims of good governance in their areas. He said the government and state have responsibility to secure its nationals.
