LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has welcomed Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s statement regarding Kashmir and said the COAS had taken a bold stand on the core issue between Pakistan and India.
He was speaking at a ceremony at Charsada at which interest free loans were given away to the flood affected families for the purchase of rickshaws and other small business. Funds have been provided jointly by Turkey’s NGO Yarad Mill and the Al-Khidmat Foundation.
Turkish Aid ( TIKA) chief Mustafa Girey Tasal , Country Director of Yard Milli and Al-Khidmat Foundation chief Abdus Shakoor, were also present at the ceremony which was also attended by members of other political parties.
The JI chief said that the country was facing great challenges on her eastern and western borders. India, he said, was preparing plans against this country in collusion with Israel. However, he was sure that India would never succeed in her game. He said that Indian Prime Minister Modi had announced an alliance with Israel. He said this alliance was not against France or Britain. It was only against the Muslim world and Pakistan.
Sirajul Haq said that even after 68 years of its creation, Pakistan could not become an Islamic welfare state. He said that the government’s role was that of parents but the government in the country had turned into a tax collection machine which never thought of the good of the masses. He said a small coterie of the elite was controlling the country’s politics, business, and judiciary and the poor masses were left high and dry.
He said that billions of dollars of a few Pakistanis were lying in Swiss banks and if this money was brought to the country, not only all the loans could be paid off but a huge amount would available for welfare projects.
Sirajul Haq said that change could to be brought about in the country through hollow slogans or the younger generation of the feudal lords and vaderas. Real change could come only if honest, patriotic and competent leadership came to power.
