RAWALPINDI: The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) Meeting on Tuesday resolved to continue operation against terrorism and help government fight extremism.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) Meeting was held at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi. General Rashad Mahmood Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) presided over the meeting which was attended by General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of Air Staff and senior military officers from the tri-services.
The forum reviewed the progress made in the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and lauded the sacrifices and contributions made by Armed Forces. CJCSC appreciated Armed Forces for securing the confidence of people by successfully fighting terrorism. All military leaders resolved to continue operations to eliminate terrorism and help government fight extremism.
Issues pertaining to national security and emerging regional geo-strategic environment were also dilated upon. The participants expressed satisfaction over the standard of preparedness of Armed Forces to take on internal and external challenges.
At the end, the forum reaffirmed the resolve of Armed Forces to respond to entire spectrum of threat in the most befitting manner as per comprehensive security strategy.
