JC verdict marks major swift to Naya Pakistan: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has accepted verdict of the Judicial Commission (JC) after thorough probe into allegations of engineered rigging in 2013 general election.

While addressing an important press conference at his residence Bani Gala Islamabad, Imran Khan said that JC verdict showed a move forward to the establishment of Naya Pakistan as PTI struggle gave awareness to the voters regarding their power across the country.

Public is not aware about their victorious status right now and they should not be disappointment but to feel pride over the verdict, Imran Khan said. PTI chairman said that he felt pride over action carried out by the Judicial Commission.

He said that the Inquiry Commission report was part of struggle for New Pakistan and there is no need for any disappointment especially to the youths. He thanked to the participants of sit-ins continued for overall 126 in the federal capital Islamabad to protest against unproven vote rigging during 2013 general election.

He reiterated that the only transparent election was held in 1970 while vote rigging was admitted by 21 political parties including ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). Imran Khan added that PML-N should seek pardon over the verdict but not them as Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed to fulfill their responsibilities.

He alleged that ECP was not in contact with provincial officers during general election while Director General ECP was not aware of printing of additional ballot papers.

Imran Khan slammed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over his statement to the nation that PTI protests pushed back Pakistan in development for two years. He blamed PML-N government for responsible for barricading in development areas. He claimed to knock every door for justice but received nothing except selection for exhibiting street power to get rights of Pakistanis.

PTI chairman claimed that he went to the Supreme Court (SC) but the then Chief Justice of Pakistan Chaudhry Iftikhar rejected to accept his plea by saying that already 20,000 cases were still pending and PTI deprived from justice over request of investigation into only four constituencies till yet.

He said that those are propagating about London Plan and defaming the military troops should felt ashamed over such allegations. Imran Khan said that he cannot become Prime Minister if probe was started in the four  constituencies.

Imran Khan said that PTI always supported democracy in the country by blocking all paths towards vote rigging as it is the only political party that offered re-election after mismanagement in Local Bodies’ election held in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province. He added that KP government has formed special commission to find out flaws in the LB election. He claimed that all political parties were not agreed except PTI regarding re-election in KP.
