KARACHI: The Consul-General of Japan in Karachi, Toshikazu Isomura, hosted a reception to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor Akihito, who will be 83 years on December 23, 2016.
The event was attended by the parliamentarians, Government officials, diplomats, business executives, and other prominent figures from both Sindh and Balochistan.
The Honorary Consul General of Japan in Quetta, Nadeem Shah, who was recently honored with the “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” and Pakistani Architect, Ms. Yasmeen Lari, awarded with Fukuoka Asia Culture Award, delivered short speeches about their achievements and expressed their gratitude to the Government of Japan.
In his speech, the Consul-General Toshikazu Isomura, conveyed his best wishes for the Emperor, and briefed Japan’s aid assistance and steps for developing the bilateral ties in social, cultural and economic sectors.
He emphasized his heartfelt commitment in further promoting economic relations, and vibrating cultural and people-to-people exchange between Japan and Pakistan.
On this occasion, Consulate-General of Japan and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) co-organized “Japan Business Exhibition 2016”.
As many as 18 Japanese-related companies opened their booths to display their products and services such as variety of Japanese automobiles and advanced technology products.
The five Ikebana Groups showcased beautiful flower arrangements and the Pakistan Bonsai Society Exhibited bonsai (Japanese art of growing a miniature tree in a container).
