LAHORE: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan has decided to file additional Terms of References (ToRs) in the Supreme Court seeking indiscriminate accountability of all those who have got bank loans written off, whose names have appeared in the Panama leaks and who were known within the country and abroad for corruption, corrupt practices or concealment of assets.

The decision was taken at a meeting between JI Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq, and his counsel Muhammad Asad Manzur before the Supreme Court bench hearing the petitions concerning accountability, at Islamabad on Friday.

They also decided to request the court to set up a strong, autonomous and independent judicial commission vested with full powers to take any action for the eradication of corruption, and where the common citizen could file a petition against the rulers and powerful elite.

They expressed the hope that apex court would deliver a decision as would be exemplary for weeding out corruption and help cleanse the country of ill practices.

Sirajul Haq said on the occasion that the JI would not take sides in the case and would raise voice at every forum against all those who had plundered public money, deprived the masses of their rights and burdened every citizen under heavy debt. It would continue its struggle for retrieving the national wealth lying abroad.
