ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

JI’s counsel Taufeeq Asif filed the petition in the SC seeking disqualification of the prime minister.

The petitioner said that the prime minister had deliberately concealed his assets and did not mention his property abroad. He claimed that no tax was paid while transferring money abroad for purchasing the property. He said that this act of the prime minister falls in the category of ‘theft’.

Therefore, the PM is not eligible under the Article 62 and 63 and should be disqualified.
