Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen’s son Ali Khan Tareen has shown interest in buying the sixth Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise previously known as the Multan Sultans.

Speaking to Geo News, Ali confirmed that he is interested in buying the team.

“I want to buy the team for the fourth edition of PSL and for this reason I have had two to three meetings with Pakistan Cricket Board officials in Lahore,” he said.

Ali added, “I have completed the initial work for a tender for PSL 4.”

On the other hand, players manager Imran Ahmed Khan said, “The ownership of the sixth team will be decided through a tender, which will be released in the first week of December.”

He added, “We are trying that the ownership rights of the sixth team are sold by next month.”

The PCB on November 10, had terminated the franchise agreement with Schon Properties which granted franchise rights of Multan Sultans after they failed to meet its financial obligations.

Following the termination of the contract, all rights in respect of the team were reverted back to the PCB.

The PCB, in a statement, stated that the termination was brought about due to the former franchise’s inability to meet its financial obligations under the agreement.
